HAWARDEN

THE OLD GROCERY

Set in beautiful Hawarden village, The Old Grocery occupies a building that historically housed a butcher and grocery store (fondly remembered by Chef proprietor Rob) and has been part of Hawarden hospitality for over 30 years.

Under current circumstances we have, like all similar businesses, had to close our doors temporarily. In the meantime you can still enjoy award winning food in the comfort of your own home with our new ‘Food For Home’ service…

FOOD FOR HOME
ROB & KATE

OWNERS

Following a short stint as a 14-year-old kitchen porter in this very building, and a chef apprenticeship 7 years later in, yes… this very building, Rob went on to discover the world. It turns out that his world is Kate and after working together for 18 years, including running two very successful businesses together, they have returned home to embark on a new albeit familiar adventure.

what moves us

PHILOSOPHY

Bringing together the traditional values of great quality seasonal produce and a service associated with a bygone era, with a modern interpretation of food and drink.

Food for homeWe're back and raring to go!

We will commence taking orders 9am Sunday 31st May.

We’ve made some changes – brought in (some of) the Cavalry, tweaked our menus, added a ‘Perfect for Home’ wine list and rejigged the restaurant to make it safer for pick up – but you can rest assured that the quality of our ready meals will remain the same!

We will still deliver, free of charge, to CH5 postcodes with a minimum order value of £35 but you can now pick up smaller orders (minimum £20) from us wherever you live.

Orders can still be made by email from 9am Sunday to 9pm Monday but with our bolstered team we will be able to honour a lot more than we have in the past.

Check out our menu page and social media pages for menus and more details on how to order.

Thank you for your continued support.
